{ Liz + Eric | Viento State Park + Government Cove }
I’m a huge fan of engagement sessions involving a little bit of adventure so when Eric & Liz picked the gorge as their ideal location I knew I couldn’t pass it up! These two are not originally from Oregon but have made the most of their few years in the state exploring the outdoors and enjoying new places, so this was the perfect fit.
Full of amazing locations with that quintessential PNW landscape, the gorge is just everything it seems to be in photos and more. Dreamy sweeping landscapes, rock cliffs, the water, colorful clouds… it’s a photographers dream. I must admit I’ve not explored it nearly enough- but I’ll definitely be back.
We started their session at Viento State Park! From the parking lot it’s a super short walk to the waters edge. With a little beach and views of the rock formations it’s the perfect spot for photos or a walk along the water.
From there we headed to Government Cove for sunset! This spot is so dramatic and everything we hoped for when envisioning this session. As a location it requires a little bit of hiking around, but there are picturesque spots at every turn and well worth any effort it takes to get there.
Beyond this epic location, it’s Liz & Eric’s chemistry that really makes these photos special. You can just see the love, support and lightheartedness they have in their relationship- and at the end of the day, that’s what makes a session a win! It was a blast getting to spend the evening together and we can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with them in August.
Interested in a session at the Columbia River Gorge?! Let’s go!
